Those who travelled in the last years by the southern plain of Bucharest towards Slobozia, Alexandria, Giurgiu or Craiova noticed that aluminium roofs that replaced the horizon. More and more are visible the houses of the newly rich Roma. The press baptized these houses gypsy palaces – aggressive sub-cultural pollution and kitsch of fabulous wealth, obviously illicit. The project regarding the palaces with towers started two years ago after an unexpected encounter with the glitter of aluminum roofs in the light of a sunset in Bărăgan. This is how the idea of a collection of photography about houses but also about their promoters, owners, artisans, inhabitants started.
