 Bullying: From Student Conflict to Juvenile Delinquency

Bullying is a frequently encountered phenomenon, with various behaviors and forms. The present study aims to explore the different perceptions and attitudes of high school students regarding this phenomenon. The analysis took place in a high school in Gorj county and another one in Timiş county, with a total of 84 responses collected from the two schools, the respondents being 12th-grade students. The results of the study show that the most frequent form of bullying reported by respondents is verbal bullying, accounting for 59.5%. Respondents choose to intervene to stop various bullying behaviors in proportion to 56%. Regarding different determinants of bullying behavior towards the respondents, they declare that physical appearance represented a triggering factor for them. The conclusions of the study show that verbal bullying is the predominant form of bullying among the respondents of the study.
