Reziliența – concept, evoluții și perspective critice. Aplicații în contextul asistenței sociale

The term resilience has become a central concept in the social sciences, recognized for its strategic and systemic importance in managing contemporary challenges. This article provides a theoretical and applied analysis of resilience from a sociological and social work perspective. Starting from the origins of the term and moving on to its definition as a dynamic process of adaptation, learning, and transformation, the paper provides a critical synthesis of the main interdisciplinary approaches. Four operational categories of resilience indicators are presented – structural, functional, social, and institutional – correlated with the micro (individual), meso (community), and macro (institutional) levels of social intervention. The conclusions emphasize the need for theories formulated by specialists, thus highlighting the need to expand and adapt the scope of theoretical analysis towards strengthening the role of social workers in managing the adversities they face. Thus, perceptions focused on identifying and capitalizing on fundamental resources contribute to optimal intervention and the creation of a climate conducive to the development of resilience. Social assistance aims to improve the active participation of individuals and groups by promoting a strategic, holistic, and systemic thinking-oriented concept that is relevant in contemporary society. In this context, the concept of resilience is introduced as an imperative necessity for maintaining social cohesion and community balance.
