 Deinstitutionalized Youth in Social-Professional Integration – Case Study – Bihor County

Many young people who lived in child protection institutions by 18 confront with difficulties of social integration after leaving these institutions. This paper analysed the degree of social integration for these people. We focused on the following: characteristics of life in institutions, attitudes and behaviours regarding work, education and family, characteristics of life after leaving the institutions. Amid this research were identified certain patterns of social integration, starting with the variable of the place of living. The identified typologies are the following: youngsters who live in homes/ rooms given by the city hall, people without shelter, those who live in Christian foundations, youths who remained in placement centres (due to the fact that they continue their studies), those who live in bought apartments by foreign “sponsors”, people from prisons and youngsters who live with their family.
