This paper is focused on the apparently antithetical relation between needs for flexibility, autonomy, sensitivity to the uniqueness of individual situations and a primary concern with client’s needs on the one hand, and the needs of the organizational context for standardization, uniformity, impersonality and role adherence, on the other hand.
Keywords: flexibility, autonomy, sensitivity, standardization, uniformity, impersonality
